Equipment Checkout
Traditional audiovisual and advanced technology equipment may be
checked out by contacting the Classroom Support main office at 438-7412. Equipment
may be delivered to a classroom, departmental office, or the Stevenson satellite
office at STV 233C. Equipment may also be picked up at the main office at 207 Nelson Smith Building.
Equipment checked out through
the Stevenson satellite office is limited to short-term use and must remain in Stevenson Hall.
The Stevenson satellite office is open Monday through Friday, 7:45 am - 3:30 pm during the fall and spring
semesters.
Training
Classroom Support staff is available to instruct users in the operation of
various equipment and technologies:

Traditional audiovisual equipment including: TV/VCR combination
units, slide projectors, and audiocassette recorders.

Portable multimedia systems such as laptop computers and data
projectors.

Multimedia classroom and lecture halls that may include sound
reinforcement, PC and Macintosh computers, data projection,
VCR and document cameras.

Interactive television classrooms that include two-way audio
and video transmission as well as multimedia classroom technology.
Consulting
The Classroom Support staff have installed over ninety multimedia rooms including
interactive television classrooms both on and off campus
since 1989. Classroom Support has worked with colleges and departments designing,
specifying, purchasing, and installing complete multimedia systems
in classrooms and lecture halls. Contact us for assistance in planning
your next multimedia room, or when you need help deciding what equipment
to purchase and how.
Repair/Maintenance
Classroom Support repairs most types of university owned audiovisual and electronic
equipment. The staff of Classroom Support provides repair and preventative maintenance
of installed multimedia systems in many of the classrooms and
lecture halls.
Emergency
Classroom Support has phone coverage during normal working hours to respond
to operational questions, equipment failure, and other classroom
technology concerns. Our lecture halls and some classrooms have
telephones in convenient locations should you need to contact us.
