Classroom Technology at Illinois State
Classroom Support manages technology in
approximately 150 general-use classrooms across campus. Planning and budgetary oversight
for campus-wide issues regarding technology in campus rooms is provided
by the Classroom Technology Advisory Committee, chaired by the director
of Classroom Support.
Additionally Classroom Support provides support to "departmentally owned" (210) classrooms with the understanding that all fiscal issues of equipment upgrades and replacement are borne by the department the room is assigned to.
The classrooms are categorized into three distinct groups
Traditional Classrooms: Chalk or whiteboard primarilly, usually an overhead projector. Much of the
traditional AV delivery that Classroom Support performs is to these rooms. Faculty can request delivery of traditional AV equipment in these rooms. For a complete list of equipment click here. |
Technology Enabled Classrooms: Some 100 classrooms are outfitted with some teaching technology. Typically these
rooms have some combination of an installed desktop computer
(PC, Mac, or both), display projector, VCR, speakers,
Internet connectivity, laptop connectivity, and a cart or cabinet to hold equipment. |
